John Williams
The choir recently made a presentation to 2nd tenor John Williams to celebrate his 90th birthday and to recognise his 33 years as a member. Chairman Rob Ratcliffe presented John with a framed choir photo enscribed with a special message for John. We are all looking forward to many more years of singing with John who is also still an active golfer!
Concert for YourSpace
The choir organised and performed in a joint concert with the London Welsh Rugby Club Choir at St Martin of Tours church in Llay on 10th June. The concert was in aid of local autism charity Your Space and we raised a little over £2400 in total for this worthy cause. If you would like the choir to help your charity then contact us using the 'Book Us' link in the menu.
Concert for SHARE
On 29th September the choir returned to St Mary's Without The Walls in Handbridge, Chester, this year for a concert in aid of SHARE (Support for Homeless and Refugees Everywhere). We were delighted to have been joined again by wonderful guest flute soloist Adele Bracegirdle for what turned out to be a fabulous evening of music. The Handbridge Community Association have already invited us back for next year so watch this space!
Cadets' Carols for Christmas
We were delighted to perform on 4th December at a Carol Concert at the William Aston Hall arranged to celebrate the work of young volunteers in our community. The concert showcased the service of young people from across the region and included music from the Salvation Army Band alongside the Choir. There was an address to young people from the High Sheriff, the Honourable Kate Hill-Trevor and a Christmas message from the Venerable Canon Dr Hayley Matthews. A series of short films highlighted some of the work of the young volunteers and cadets.
